The 15 ultra-runners started from Delhi and while some of them did not complete the entire The Great India Run the 1480 km journey is almost over. As runners close in on Mumbai, we are holding a 5K to celebrate the end of this epic run, and a closing ceremony to honour all the runners.

Over the last two weeks, runners have travelled through Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Maharashtra. Join us for the closing ceremony of The Great India Run, where runners will run a 5K fun run, and a 21K run as a show of support for the tireless ultra-runners.

With stops overnight, the leading runners covered more than 70km per day even as the temperatures soared in the early part of the run. As the days went by, the weather cooled down and showers greeted the runners as they entered Gujarat after the heat of Rajasthan. This seemed to spur them into a faster pace, as the days went by with kilometres ticking.
