We are delighted to announce the second running icon in FirstRun’s roster, Milind Soman. One of the India’s most well-known fitness icons, and an Ironman triathlete, Milind will bring his expertise, his unique insights into running along with a new brand of energy and enthusiasm. Milind will join Gul Panag, MobieFit co-founder, as the second in-app motivator for all our runners.

Along with Milind’s entry, we will be launching a revamped version of the app with a new Free Run feature. Now, whenever you have the time select the duration or the distance you are aiming for. So there’s no need to be bound to a fixed running program. We are also adding new running programs including a 21K or half marathon training program, Interval, Tempo Runs, and Fartlek Runs, and a Pro mode for advanced-level runners. Starting today, you can pre-order the revamped version of FirstRun at a discounted early-bird price.

Even though he has been a national-level swimming champion, Milind started running competitively rather late in life. He competed in his first half marathon in 2003, and since then has conquered many heights, including setting the Limca Record for a Delhi-Mumbai run in 30 days. He’s also the founder of Pinkathon, India’s first ‘women-only’ marathon series, and one of the most popular running events in the country. It was created with the specific purpose of getting more and more women to adopt a fitter lifestyle for themselves and their families, and to highlight the need for increased awareness other issues that put women’s lives at risk. More than 66,000 women participated in 8 city-based Pinkathon 10K runs in 2015.

Last year, Milind became one of the few Indian runners to complete the Ironman Triathlon, a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) consisting of a 3.86-km swim, a 180.25 km bicycle ride and a full marathon (42.2 km). He completed the race in 15 hours and 19 minutes.
