One of the most prestigious and sought after running events in India, the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Kolkata Marathon is recognized by the AFI and is the biggest marathon in Eastern India. The event is backed by Indian tennis legend and Olympic medal winner Leander Paes.
The IDBI Federal Life Insurance Kolkata Marathon aims to promote athletics in the state and to give Indian athletes a platform to showcase their talent. The company sponsoring the run is actively working towards all-round development of individuals and promoting health and fitness in the city. The 2016 edition of the marathon is scheduled for March 6.
The last edition saw more than 15,000 runners take to the streets.
