Registrations for the Airtel Delhi Half marathon are open and this year’s run will have two categories – a half marathon and a 6K run for enthusiasts.
Registration for the race, which will be held on November 29, 2015, has been open since March 2015. Runners can sign up for the event by visiting the website and submitting application fees.
Fees and categories
The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon has two categories – the half marathon which is a 21.1 km run and the 6 km Great Delhi Run. Application fees for the half marathon is Rs 1,300 and the Great Delhi Run is Rs 600. The collection dates for the bibs is yet to be announced. The minimum age of participants for the half marathon is 18 years and for the 6 Km run is 12 years.
In addition, there’s a Senior Citizens’ Run (4km) open to those over the age of 60 as well as a Champions with Disability run (4km) open to anyone over the age of 12.
In the last year’s edition of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, the men’s and women’s winners in the half marathon category were awarded was $27,000 each. Participants who came second in the elite division were awarded $20,000 each. Prize money for this year’s event has not been announced yet. Other awards given included top-10 finishers for the marathon, Best Indian Runners, and Best Timing in each age group.
The start time, the venue, and the course details for the events have not yet been disclosed by the organisers, but we will update this post as soon as these details are confirmed. All runners who complete the race will be awarded a medal and timing certificates for participants of the half marathon will be posted on the website after the race.
TUI India, the official travel partner of the event has announced special packages for participants of the ADHM. The packages are for two nights’ accommodation.
Double/Twin Occupancy along with mid-sized car for travel to venue starts at Rs. 10,000 (Bronze Package), and goes up to Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 14,000 for the Silver and Gold Package. Triple Occupancy with an SUV car starts at Rs. 8,000 and goes up to Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 12,000, while Single Occupancy along with a mid-sized car for travel to venue starts at Rs. 19,000 and goes up to Rs. 21,000 and Rs. 27,000. The hotel for the Bronze package will be the Hans Plaza. The Silver Package will get you accommodation at The Park Hotel, while Gold Package members get stay at Le Meridian.
