American ultramarathoner Scott Jurek, who recently broke records on the Appalachian Trail, is on his way to India to inspire runners across ages through running events held across three cities. An immensely popular public speaker, Jurek is known for advocating a plant-based diet and is the New York Times bestselling author of ‘Eat and Run’ that outlines his running and diet philosophies. His accomplishments on the field include victories in nearly all of ultrarunning’s elite trail and road events, including the historic 153-mile Spartathlon, the Hardrock 100, the Badwater 135-mile Ultramarathon, the Miwok 100K, and—his signature race—the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run, which he won a record seven straight times.
A popular face on social media and running forums, Jurek is a fitness enthusiast and a true advocate for the sport of running; he enjoys encouraging people of all fitness levels to take the next step toward health. He has already announced the upcoming tour on his social media pages, adding that he “can’t wait to have some delicious Indian food!” The tour is organized in association with Protons Sports who work to create unique endurance and running events. Jurek’s tour will cover the cities of Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi, and include several interactive opportunities with the ultra-runner, such as running sessions, Q&As, photo ops, and even a 10K fun run.
Each city’s event will be divided into two sessions: Ultra Night with Scott and Morning Run with Scott. Apart from the interactions, participants also get signed copies of ‘Eat and Run’, Event T-shirts, dinner and photo sessions with the runner. If you’re looking to get a piece, make sure you register early and make the most of this chance. Who knows, you may even end up on his Instagram feed!
