Your highly developed sweet tooth can be a real pain when you’re trying to be healthy, and stick to a diet plan. No amount of savory food can satisfy a sugar craving. But you already know that some desserts can be healthy, especially if they involve dark chocolate. So the abstaining from sugar doesn’t have to be so painful. But somedays, chocolate is just not enough. You just have to have a sweet delight for your mid-morning or mid-evening snacks. So here’s a sugar-free option that should act as a fix till your next sweet craving.

What you need

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 80ml vegetable oil
  • 180g oats
  • 175g dates chopped
  • 2 bananas sliced
  • How to make it

  • Mash the bananas in a large bowl.Add the dates and oil to the bananas and mix together.
  • Stir in the oats and the vanilla essence and leave for 5 minutes, so the oats absorb the oil.
  • Spoon the mixture into a well-greased baking tray and bake at 175C for about 25 minutes.
  • Handy Hint
    Cut into squares while still warm. Or throw in some chia seeds after baking, for extra crunch.
