One might let go of gym equipment at large but the lat pull down machine is a must have when it comes to building upper body strength, mass and keeping your shoulders healthy. These vertical pulling exercises primarily target the latissimus dorsi or lats muscles. They also work on the lower and middle trapezius, the rhomboids and the muscles stretching across your spine. This is a very important exercise to stabilize your spine and improve your posture when you are performing other exercises like squats and deadlifts. To do this exercise grab on to the bars of a lat pull down machine. Tighten up your lats and pull the bar all the way to your armpits. Keep your chin lowered when you pull and remember to wide grip the bar. Do 2 sets of 10 reps each to corret your posture and streghten your back.
